Junior Programs

BTC Junior Programs 2024

BTC Junior programs are offered free to members and include:

  • Red Ball Beginner – mini tennis court
  • Orange Ball – ¾ tennis court
  • Green Dot Ball – full court

The focus is on fun and making new friends. All the while developing hand eye coordination skills and tennis development. The program will be run by BTC club volunteers and ACE certified coaches. Children will bring their own junior racquet, water bottle and snack. Parents are expected to be in attendance as this is not a drop off program.

Red Ball (1 HOUR) 4 - 8 Years Old

Beginner novice level, mini tennis court, ideal for 4 – 8 years old. Yoga is included in the warmup sessions. Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Orange Ball (1 HOURS) 7 - 13 Years Old

Progressive level, ¾ court, ability to maintain a rally half court and ¾ court. Ability to serve ¾ court.

Hitting partner programs can be arranged with green dot ball or ICTA juniors upon request.

  • MAY, JUNE & SEPTEMBER – SUNDAY @ 1 -2 PM AND 2 – 3 PM START DATE MAY 5TH
  • JULY & AUGUST – MONDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY @ 11 – 12 AM AND 12 – 1 pm SUNDAYS 12 – 1 PM AND 1 – 2 PM START DATE JULY 3RD
GREEN DOT BALL 7 -14 YEARS OLD

Demonstrated ability to serve full court, ability t maintain a full court rally ability to play a set and keep score Green dot ball training will be conducted by an ACE certified coach.

Hitting partner programs are available for green dot ball juniors hitting with adults upon request. In addition both Green dot ball juniors can earn comp hours and volunteer hours by registering to hit with orange ball children.

Green dot ball junior players will also be eligible to participate in the ICTA junior tryouts and leagues, Tennis Rocks events and Rogers Rokie Tour tournament and will train in practices as a green dot ball team.

ICTA JUNIOR SUPER STAR AND ALL STAR TEAM TRAINING

ICTA juniors are capable of playing full court tennis sets and will have some match play experience. Age eligibility is at January 1st 2024. ICTA SuperStars (under12) and ICTA All Stars (U14/U18) ICTA junior league match play will be home and away matches against other WEST junior teams including Appleby, Milton Brampton and Mississauga based tennis clubs.

Hitting partner programs are available for ICTA junior players with BTC Adults upon request. In addition ICTA juniors can earn comp hours and volunteer hours by registering to hit with Orange Ball children.

ICTA Junior Players will play in ICTA junior leagues Tennis Rocks events Rogers Rookie Tour tournaments and OTA tournaments.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

While free , weekly registration is required for each program and can be done 7 days in advance using Calendar Signup in the members only section of the website. For more information, contact burltennisclub@gmail.com

ON COURT PROTOCOLS

Please ensure to bring proper tennis shoes water bottle tennis hat and snack. Non member parents are welcome to participate in red ball sessions located on the pickleball court. Non member parents for orange ball and green dot ball are welcome to watch outside the fence.

Please ensure not to walk on a tennis court while that court is in play. Be courteous and respectful to tennis players on other courts send balls back to players from other courts

Junior Programs

Burlington Tennis Club’s programs, camps, and lessons are operated by ACE Tennis, one of Canada’s leading tennis academies since 1978. The staff consists of individuals with university undergraduate and master’s degrees, Tennis Canada coaching certifications and former top Canadian junior and open players. The coaches are full-time professional career coaches who are members of Tennis Canada’s Tennis Professionals Association and are trained to implement the programs in order to follow the most up to date ACE coaching methodology and Covid-19 protocols.

Our lessons are fun and interactive for our Juniors to learn new skills they need in a group environment.

Offering Tennis camps that look to develop the fundamentals and intermediate skill sets of all ages.

Greenwin Cares

*You do NOT have to be a member to register for ACE Team & Greenwin Cares program*

This FREE 6-week Program is for players age 4-6.

Players need to be accompanied by 1 family member.

Participation in Junior Programs requires a Junior BTC membership (cost $95)
Payment of membership must be completed/confirmed prior to registration of Junior Programs

Rain Policy:

  • Clients will be issued a club credit for the cost of any lesson canceled due to rain
  • All efforts will be made to reschedule any lesson canceled due to rain. Re-scheduled sessions will NOT be credited
  • If a session is over 20 minutes prior to a rain out, you will be charged for the full session
  • 2-hour sessions will be charged the full session rate after 40 minutes

Mini Tennis (MT)

Mini Tennis introduces the game’s fundamentals with mini racquets, a larger ball, and a smaller court to facilitate learning and foster a love for the game.

Ages: 8-11 [Level: Beginner / Intermediate]

A fun program for beginner and intermediate-level kids, this program teaches kids to rally, serve, play points, and learn the rules and etiquette of the game.

This program is for players who are more advanced club-level players for their age who can maintain a rally on a full-sized tennis court with regular balls. The players enjoy friendly competition, but may not necessarily play tournaments.

** Players need to be assessed/approved by the coach to register for Competitive Aces (otherwise, players are to register Smashing Aces program).
